MS Word 2002 XP I've Just Had The Weirdest Thing Happen

Today I was working in a Word document. When I go to insert a letter in a
word (for example, say I wanted to type the word "microsoft" but I actually
typed it as micosoft, leaving out the "r". when I put the cursor after the
"c" and hit the "r" key to add it, it adds the letter "r" but it deletes the
letter "o" that's immediately after it. This is really weird. I've never
had this happen before. I'm thinking I should uninstall the program and
re-install it but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I know I am not good at explaining
myself so if you need more info please let me know. Thank you!!!

Well, you must have hit the insert key, no doubt in error. Just press it
again to cancel it. Sure beats re-installing - which wouldn't fix it,
anyway:))

This is neither a Word nor a FrontPage question, but never mind. The first
time did it, I was mystified.

This is a FrontPage group, not Microsoft Word, but I can tell you you've
accidentally hit the Insert key on your keyboard (usually grouped with
the home, page up, page down, delete, and end keys), so you are now in
"typeover" mode instead of "insert" mode. Hit the insert key again and
you'll be fine.
