MS Word 2002 Abnormal Program Termination

Hi,

At times when I try to close my MS Word document, I'll have this error
message appearing:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Winword.exe
abnormal program termination

It will cause all my Word documents to close without any prompts to
save those documents. Any idea what causes it and how to get it fixed?

Thanks, but the problems listed there occur when the MS Word is
opened. But the problem that I face only occurs when I close the
application (only happens intermittently).

Hi, xya. You are correct that the article to which I referred you addresses startup problems that could be related to Word templates and addins. I just don't know what I was thinking when I said, "Sounds like a macro is causing problems". Indeed, how could runtime errors be related to macros? Your proposition that any problems a macro can cause would become evident as soon as you open Word, instead of waiting for you to close a Word file, is beyond debate. How could macros possibly be related to Word templates and add-ins? I just don't know what I was thinking. I wish you success in finding a solution to the problem.
