Windows XP/Word 2002

I have experienced a problem working in Word 2002, but suspect Windows is the
cause; I am running Windows XP Home Edition. While creating a new document in
Word, I left the computer for 5 or 10 minutes and came back to find the
following error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\WINWORD.EXE
abnormal program termination.

This has happened twice and when I either click on Okay, or X out, I lose
all my work and revert to a blank Word document. Any ideas?

What is your ServicePacks for Windows XP and for Windows XP? Do you have
IE7? If so, did this happen previously to IE7 installation?

I run Word 2002 and have under both XP-1 & XP-2 and have never
encountered any problems, so I can't make any suggestion other than to
look elswhere for the problem or try and re-install your office suite,
if that's what you are running.

I meant to ask what SP do you have for Windows Xp and Office XP 2002?
Current Office XP 2002 SP is SP3 + security updates.
