Visual C++ Runtime Error!

Paul

Hi everyone,

Word has been working fine until this afternoon. Now, whenever I try to
open a document, I get the error, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Program: C:\program files\microsoft office\office10\winword.exe abnormal
program termination" I need to get Word up and running, help would be
greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Insert your OfficeXP disk, run a repair installation.

Hello Paul! These sorts of errors are caused by add-ins or code loading in
either the registry or more likely the 'startup' folder for Word. Try the
following:

First shut down any open programs, then click Start, then RUN and type the
following:

winword.exe /a And click OK.

Now try and get the error again. If that works remove any files you have in
the
startup folder for Word (should be C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office\Startup in most cases) and try to start Word normally. If it
works you can try putting back the items one at a time and starting Word /
quitting adding another until you find what's causing it.
