Asha

Hi I am using MS Outlook 2010 beta with a IMAP/SMTP type account and I am finding that all the emails I download and read are staying on my webmail server account. I cannot find a setting option anywhere to "delete server copy" Can someone please help me Thanks

You can't, (and never could) because that's how IMAP works. That's the whole
POINT of an IMAP account, that you can access all your mail folders from any
computer. A bit like Exchange but without the Calendar and Tasks bit. If you
don't want to keep messages on the server automatically, then you must
change to a POP mail account.
Otherwise move the messages to a local storage folder and set Outlook to
purge on exit.

file, account settings, double click on the account then more settings -
Advanced tab has the leave on server settings. By default outlook 2010
keeps to for 14 days then deletes it.

Gordon I'm having a similar problem even though I'm using a POP mail account. Infact, I'm using the identical login information to the same ISP that I've used for years with 2003 Microsoft Outlook without this problem. Is there a switch somewhere that will delete mail from the server once it is downloaded to Outlook 2010? (I'm getting tired of using my ISP mail login procedures to delete these items.)
