No matter which Microsoft Office programs from 2003 that I am using on
this Athlon system (Windows XP with all updates current, running Norton
SystemWorks {latest version} and the last updated version of Zone
Alarm), the system freezes and I have to reset it constantly, no matter
what I might be working on at the time.

Most recently; am printing from MS Office Word 2003 to an HP psc 1210v
all-in-one (printer, scanner, copier) printer.

When I installed the driver for this printer, the disk said it was for
use in Windows XP.

I have all the recent service packs installed in this OS.

Would this possibly be a driver issue?

The printer is running on a USB port, and all ports are scanning with no
problems showing up in the properties' tabs off My Computer. . .

Help?

Thanks in advance,

Feather

Try disabling/removing the Norton AV office plugin.

Thanks. Where would that be located? I cannot find it in Norton
SystemWorks 2005?

Thanks again in advance,

Allthough I dont use NSW2005, on previous versions the office plugin
activation was located in Norton AV/ Options/ Miscellaneous. ( double click
AV icon on tool bar to open)

Hi, DL,

There doesn't seem to be a Miscellaneous in NAV / SystemWorks 2005: it
has no reference at all.

Could this possibly be a Service Pack 2 problem?

I ran the repair part of MS Office in Add/Remove Programs earlier, but
have yet to test out whether or not the program will freeze whenever I
use one of them. (Very busy).

I hope I will have time tomorrow night. . .

thanks again in advance,

Its located under Options>Anti Virus>Miscellaneous untick enable office

The options are accessible from the NIS Icon in the taskbar

There is nothing under Options called Miscellaneous. . .and nothing
called enable office plugin.

It's NAV/NSW 2005. . .

Sheesh, talk about being a dense-brain. (ME)

I FOUND the Options and disabled the MSOffice plugin.

NOW it freezes with ANY program, though this seems to be happening less
often now?

Any ideas?
