MS WORKS FREEZES WHEN PRINT COMMAND GIVEN

Using MS Works v7 and WinXP SP3....
Some update has screwed up printing a spreadsheet because I see a lot of
posts on message boards asking for help for this problem. Everyone has
updated printer drivers and some have reinstalled Works but it does not
help. When you click Print the screen turns white with only the title bar
showing, and freezes up. The print preview shows up fine.

A partial workaround is to right click the spreadsheet and choose print but
that does not help me because I format and print using FinePrint. Even
clicking Print and choosing the HP deskjet 3420 driver directly leaves the
screen white and not responding. Is there any other solution? An update I
can uninstall?
