MS Office CD is not opening in XP

The subject says it. I need to do a repair to my Office Pro 2000
installation and loaded its CD-1 into each of the CD drives. The chime
goes off and the drives spin and then stop, and nothing comes up on
screen. Windows Explorer gets the same result. Put another app's CD in
and it works fine. Any suggestions? This is a XP reinstallation with
all the updates from several months ago that's been working great.

With the cd installed,go to my computer,R.click on the cd drive,select
auto-run,
or Open,if open locate the .exe file & run.

Use Add/Remove program, select Office 2000, Repair --- with the CD in the
drive. It will locate it.
