It is unclear about the version you are trying to install. Your subject line
says Office 2000, and your body text says Office XP. What is the exact
version of Office your trying to install. include whether it is upgrade;
full; OEM; retail. What key are you using that is not accepted?
There are many variables that can affect the answer to your problem.
Are you installing from an upgrade version of Office? Do you have a previous
version installed, or a qualifying CD for setup to detect and continue the
installation? Do you have Office with activation checking enabled installed
on more than one computer?
If your version is Office 2000, was the SP1 version?
Your best option would be to post a question to the Office newsgroups.
