Why do I get the massage "Preparing to install...", which flashes on the
screen and then goes and then nothing.
What can I do to start and get into Access

Generally, this happens when there are multiple versions on the machine,
especially Access 97 with Access 2000 or later. Access 97 has a file which
silently self registers itself. Later, when you run another version, it
registers, but not silently. That is the message you are seeing.
