mrxsmb.sys slow boot delay

Does anyone know the solution to the delay caused by the mrxsmb.sys driver
after login to WIN XP PRO + SP2?

This is identified in BootVis (see below) as taking an additional two
minutes to login and be able to run another program.
If I change name of file in mrxsmb.ex, I solve delay problem but my network
is no available ( I need it )!

I done:

- I've already tried unchecking "file and printer sharing" and rebooting,
but it still takes 2 minutes.
- I defrag 5 time (in a week)
- I see the support of microsoft but there is no tips (free of charge) to
solve the problem
- Disabling all service login works correctly but I need to use my network
lan

My file
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mrxsmb.sys is dated 3 agosto 2004, 23.15.18
(451.456 byte).
Is a solution to get the latest version of this file in some type of patch
or fix?

Is there a solution ?

Here BOOTVIS Report:

If the bootup time jumps to more than 2 minutes, it's obvious to undo
the system changes/installations made prior to the first occurence
of this problem. Later and from afar, the cause is hard to determine.
Uninstall (de-activation is not enough) any Symantec software if
applies. Check the event viewer if there are any "MRxSmb" entries.
If this is true, this download patch for SP2 should help:

That driver file is not necessarily the culprit although shown as time
consuming in BootVis. The *real* cause might be third-party software,
starting with Windows and causing "mrxsmb.sys" to delay. You may want
to consider all possibilities offered from this group, otherwise your
decision is living with that problem forever.

I had the same problem tonight and found your post. I had this problem when
XP tried to restore a network connection to another computer in my workgroup.
HD led is flashing as if it was trying desperately to connect to something.

I deleted the network mapping and now everything is just fine.

Hope this helps.

Device\LanmanDatagramReceiver delay

I had this issue. What fixed it - mere reinstallation of the both network cards.
Since the logon procedure was slow even if the pc was not connected to the network, I do not think other advices were relevant.
