.mpg or .avi

When I click on a link that is suppose to download a .avi or .mpg, instead
of allowing me to download it, it shows me a bunch of junk on teh screen.
It almost seems like it is trying to read the file instead of download it.

I am sure it is a setting somewhere, any ideas?

That sounds like the webserver you are getting the files from doesn't
have the data type set, or is set incorrectly to text.
