When clicking on an .mpg file link on a web page, I.E. a travel destination movie, that MPG image now only plays in the Internet Explorer window, and not in the Media Player 9, as before. This just started to happen when I uninstalled Quick Time

Any ideas on how to correct as I prefer Media Player

Thanks

Have you tried opening the Internet Explorer Media Bar, clicking
Settings, and selecting "Ask for preferred types". Then, when you
click on a link to an MPG you will be presented with a dialog box with
the option as to whether or not to play the clip in Internet Explorer.
For more information, search Internet Explorer Help for the phrase:
"To change Media bar settings". Also, see the following document:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Resource Kit > Part 3 - Multimedia,
Accessibility, and Other Features: Chapter 8 - Media Bar
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/ie/6/all/reskit/en-us/part3/c08ie6rk.mspx

And if the above does not work I suggest that you post in an Internet
Explorer or Media Player newsgroup.

If you read the newsgroups using the Microsoft Communities Web Page,
here are the links:

If you read newsgroups using a NNTP newsreader, such as Outlook
Express, and use the msnews.microsoft.com news server:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser
