MPEG & DVDs appear washed out.

I recently put in a Commercial DVD into my computer and the colors look
completely washed and splotchy. Windows Media Player and PowerDVD
looked the same. Not having the time to muck with it at the time, I
forgot about it. Today, I opened a MPEG from email and had the same
look. Opened a few MPEGs I have saved and same washed out look.

Playing DVDs and MPEGs is not something I do on a regular basis - and
may have been months since I last played one. In that timespan, I have
installed a new video card (Upgrading from NVidia 4100MX to 5500LE) But
everything else looks fine.

I downloaded & installed "Codec Installation Package for Windows Media
Player 7.1 and later" to no avail.

Thoughts?

Upgrade to the latest available nVidia video drivers. Version 77.72 have
known color control problems
