MP600 Scans on Apple OS X

Ok. I decided on the MP600 (prints so far are excellent!) as my multi
function printer of choice. I am having an issue though scanning
items. I am attempting to scan a photo and the colours come out very
strangely - its almost like it is an infra red image or something as
the colours are all messed up. I am not sure if this is a software or
hardware problem. I haven't found anything online yet and Canon's toll
free number said it is closed on Sundays. Any suggestions would be
appreciated before I take it back! Thanks.

If you make a standalone copy of a picture how does it look?
If fine it may be a software problem.

Yeah I thought of that after I posted my message. A stand alone copy
looks as strange as that sent to the computer. That makes me think
that it is an issue with the device itself. I am going to try Canon
support and if I don't get it going I will just go swap it for another
one.

I called Canon Tech Support and after they ran through a couple things
they recommended getting the unit replaced. I did that and the new one
works just fine.
