Moving specific folders to Outlook 2007

I am currently running Outlook 2007 and Outlook Express on my laptop. I have
an older version of Outlook Express (6.x) that I was running on another PC
and wanted to move my older emails and address book to my laptop. I followed
the instructions and created a file containing all of my .dbx files and a csv
version of my address book, copied the file to my laptop, then attempted to
update Outlook 2007. I was successful with the address book, but no so with
the emails and folders. I was able to import my old emails into Outlook
Express (well, sort of) but not to Outlook. More details:

On import, all of my folders moved to Outlook Express except for the Inbox.
It exists in the backup and it exists in the OE datestore on the laptop, but
does not appear when I start up OE (from the Outlook 2007 menu by clicking on
NEWS). What I really want to do is to import SELECTED folders/emails from OE
to Outlook 2007 and only use OE for browsing Newsgroups but from all of the
help postings I've seen, I can't see how you can selectively move emails and
or entire folders from OE to Outlook.

Can you recommend other references of offer specific help?

Thanks!
George

It may be that you incorrectly connected your old OE Files
http://www.insideoe.com/ for info
The msgs have to be avilable in OE before you can move them to OL
You Export msgs fro OE to OL, I dont believe there is any way of selectively
exporting
(You may be able to drag a folder to your desktop, then later drag that file
into OL, I dont know as I dont use OE)

Outlook cannot import from DBX files.

That's because clicking the News item in Outlook starts Outlook Express with
the /outnews command switch, which "skins" OE as the "Outlook Newsreader"
and disables all mail functions.

Start Outlook Express, click FIle>Export>Messages. Click OK. Select the
folders you want to export. Click OK.
