I have outlook configured on my desktop so it is synced in with a hosted
e-mail account account. I have just purchased a new laptop and am confident
about configuring outlook on it so I can sync it up to my hosted e-mail
account, but I also want to migrate all current & historical e-mails,
calender and contact details onto my new laptop and use that as my main pc
from now on. On older versions of windows I seem to remember you cold copy
an outlook file across but with XP this no longer seems to be the case.

Nothing to do with win.
You copy the OL data file(s) *.pst, with OL closed, and do NOT overwrite any
existing pst.
