Moving normal.dot to a new computer with Word 2003

I have lots of autocorrects and other useful tools in normal.dot on my older
computer. I've moved to a new one -- Windows XP, Word 2003 -- and I'd like
to transfer normal.dot to it. I've tried it but none of the autocorrects,
etc. are there. Any suggestions?

Dear Suzanne:

Thank you for your help, which has saved me lots of grief. I had no idea
why I couldn't transfer my macros, autocorrects, autoformats, etc. to the new
computer. Of course, I coulnd't do it last time with normal.dot either, and
had to remake them, but that was four years ago and I forgot. It's a
headscratcher to me what normal.dot is for.

May I ask you another question? This is the first time I'm using XP (Media
Center edition). I have not attempted to modify it at all (I have no idea if
it's even possible), but there is one quirk I cannot understand.

In some cases, both folders and shortcuts I've created are un-deletable. I
get the message "Cannot delete shortcut [or folder]: Access is denied. Make
sure the disk is not full or write-protecteed and that the file is not
currently in use."

Do you have any idea what that's about? Should I post this question
elsewhere?

Thank you again.

As for your unrelated question, you need to post it in a new thread.

AutoCorrect entries, except formatted ones, are not stored in Normal.dot.
