MovieShaker to Movie Maker 2

Hi. I'm a Movie Maker 2 convert. It's brilliant!

What prompted me to change is when MovieShaker DV to tape
played back video (sometimes fine video and sometimes
with random 'sound dots'(?) thru it) and no sound.

So I import the DV into Movie Maker 2 (as DV) and on the
timeline it plays with video and sound just fine.

So I export back to the tape and on the VCR it still
plays with no sound.

What's that all about?

The sound is there somewhere - but how do I get it back
on the tape 'properly'.

Thanks very much.

It must be an on/off switch someplace, as the audio is with the video when
rendered or transferred.

First thanks Papa John you are a great source

I had this problem with DVgate Plus, it could be the same with MovieShaker

I discovered Movie Maker 2 saves the AVI file as DV-TYPE 1, DVgate can only
import AVI DV-Type 2. You can convert from Type 1 to Type 2 using a freebie
handy-dandy converter. Canopus_DV_File_Converter.exe After running the avi
produced by Movie Maker 2 through this converter and having it generate Type
2, I could then import the clip in Dvgate Plus and bingo - the audio is now
present.

here is the url for Canopus_DV_File_Converter.exe
www.canopus.us/US/product...verter.asp
you to have to sign up with canopus, the converter is free und it works
great without loosing quality Herb

Thank you so much. That sounds like it. Except I'm going
MovieShaker-->Movie Maker which I guess is DV-TYPE 2 1.
I'll give the converter a try - thanks.
