Movies from jvc digital camera to wmm

I have a JVC GR-D390 and am having problems downloading to windows movie
maker. it starts to download but after about a minute it says that the device
has been disconnected or it stops responding and the program will freeze. any
ideas ?.

I have a JVC too (different model) that will power-save in certain modes.
Try putting it into digital still mode.
