JVC Camcorder

I have a JVC GR-D72U camcorder, running Vista Home Premium. I tried using
Windows Movie Maker to download my movies to my Dell computer, but it doesn't
work. Movie Maker would run my camera, but would not transfer any files to
the computer. I am running a firewire, and have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
card. Is this a driver problem, and if so, does anyone know where I can get a
driver that will work with Vista for this camera? I tried loading the driver
that came with the camera, but it still doesn't work. Contacted JVC and, (not
a shock), they never responded back to me. Any help you can offer is greatly
appreciated.

Have you tried downloading a driver that is for Windows Vista from the JVC
web site?

When I went to JVC'S website, I did not even see my camera listed. Do they
have a driver that will work in Vista for all of their cameras? I have read

I have an older Sony and I did not have to install any drivers for firewire.
Read the manual for your cam and make sure you have the settings correct. My
Sony has to be in VCR mode for Windows to recognize it and MM to import
video.

Vista and MM recognize my JVC camera, MM will control the camera and begin
playing my tape as soon as I click on it to do so. But it will not transfer
any data to the location chosen on my hard drive. The tape is playing in the
camera - showing up on the LCD screen of it, along with the audio - but the
preview screen on MM remains black, the total MB of data transferred remains
at 0:00.
