movie with DivX Codec does not play in PPT

Powerpoint version now in use: 2003


Version the file was created in or opened in since, if any:


Windows version:XP


Other hardware involved (printer, etc):


Description of problem:

movie does not play with mplay32.exe in
run cmd even after correcting win.ini and system.ini
according to Austin Meyers web page
(I accidentally installed Quicktime with camera software)
Movie does not run in safe mode either
..




Here's what I've already tried to solve the problem:

Movie plays with DiVX player and windows media player.
This look to me like video driver and codec are ok.
They were all latest version.

DivX and the MCI player rarely wrok well together. (There are multiple
formats for DivX and multiple codecs, some of which simply won't work in the
MCI player.) Your best bet is to convert the file to a more standard
Windows format like WMV.
