Movie maker using sony camera Hi8 cassete to view on TV

I have Hi8 Sony camera and IEEE 1394 Card to capture video from camera.
I want to know best way to capture best quality to view later on tv by
burning either CD or DVD . Pl suggest. I hasve seen that Hi8 quality on tv
using camera is very good but earlier I tried to burn VCD but quality was
very bad. Pl suggest parameters to set while capturing and saving video.

A VCD is, by default, a very low resolution file. It's worse than a
standard VHS tape. If you want something good, burn a DVD.

As Cari says, burn a dvd. To get to this point capture as a dv-avi file in
MM.

Then keep your movie below an hour and choose the best quality setting in
your dvd authoring app.
