AVerDVD WDM Video capture card

I have installed an AVerDVD WDM video capture card, and would like to use it
to capture to Windows XP Movie Maker. The camera is a Sony CCD-TRV318 Hi8
(analog), and I want to go through the S-video port into the capture card's
S-video port. I get the error message that the record format is unsupported.
I can capture from my desktop VCR through the composite port, but the quality
is unacceptable. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hello,

It sounds as though the card does not support the firewire standard. And
quite likely its making an MPeg file...Movie Maker will not work with MPeg.
