movie maker 2 closes when editing

Hello every one!
I have a problem. I just download a new version of Movie
Maker (Movie Maker 2) just for the special features (fade
in, fade out, etc.) and transitions, but every time I try
to use them, Movie Maker simply closes itself and I don't
know why. Can anyone help?

There are small program fragments called codecs. Some of these codecs
are known to cause problems with movie maker. I have written a small program
that gives you the opportunity to temporarily rename these codecs....and
after using Movie Maker to restore them to their original file names....the
programme "rename Codecs" is available for download or to be run over the
Internet from the downloads section of my website.

Take note that codecs are not the only cause of MovieMaker performing
the way you describe...they are simply the most common cause.

I had the same problem. Every time I tried to use a video transition or video effect the program would just shut down by itself. I checked PapaJohn's website and did what he suggested and it worked !! I renamed the divXAF.ax file in the Windows/System32 folder in order to disable that file. Then I turned down the Hardware Acceleration setting to the 3rd notch on the scale. Right click on the desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced > troubleshoot > move the slider to the 3rd mark right of None setting. Worked for me !! thanks PapaJohn.....you dah man !! PaulNr

I am glad that you found the suggestions on that site were of use to
you...even though the owner of that site did not come up with most of
them...in fact several of the important ones are mine....they are the ones
with no names against them. Its called plagiarism....other call it theft. I

Hey ! I've told you once LOL,

Leave alone...if he is happy who are we to mention that he is now running a
real slow computer or remind him that he has disabled some of his software
and that he has to keep changing all of these things if he wants to use
them...my God what a nightmare....I can't imagine it. I would have to go
get it fixed real quick.

Leave him alone...OK ! Everyone is entitled to an opinion....so just watch
it LOL
