Movie maker problem

I cannot open WMM on my PC. Every time i try to open it i get a 'windows
movie maker has encountered a problem and has to close' box appear and i have
to close the program. can any one help? I am running windows XP SP3 and have
Movie maker 2.1.

If this is a recent occurrence, it may be worth a try
to do a System Restore to a time before it began.
