Moved pagefile, lost a drive, need help

I needed to free up space on my system partition so I replaced my current
page file (768 MB) with two new page files to meet windows recommendations of
3070 MB total. I put one of the new page files (1536 MB) on another partition
on the same drive as the system partition and the other on another drive.

After doing this and restarting my computer I get this:

"Windows delayed write failed"
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file
\Device\Harddiskvolume5\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be
caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please
try to save the file elsewhere.

I get the advice to run chkdsk on c:, which I do. This removes this error
message in windows but is replaced with the following when starting the
computer:

Warning: The hard disk has been changed.
Hard disk boot priority will be affected. Please enter setup to check.

Windows run correctly but I've lost a drive, the one where I put the second
pagefile. This drive is also my newest one, already having two other with a
total of four partitions before installing this new drive (long ago, no
problems experienced) and this leads me to believe "Harddiskvolume5" in the
first error message refers to this, now lost, drive.

What do I need to do in order to resolve this? Will Chkdsk e:(lost drive) /f
fix this?

Please help.

Regards,
Erik

You need to allocate the new page file on another drive, not on another
partition on the same drive. There will be no performance advantage to
having two page files on the same drive. You should just allocate a 65-66 MB
page file on the system partition and a large page file on the second drive.

You may have to reformat the partition. On the second drive it may be
helpful to create a dedicated partition (Fat32) at the beginning just for
the page file.
