Do not move the mouse. Moving the mouse wakes the computer, so would
pressing any key on the keyboard. PS/2 mice and keyboards do not have any
options, they automatically wake the computer.
You can enable or disable USB mice and keyboards from waking the computer.
By default, Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 enable a
universal serial bus (USB) keyboard and a USB mouse to wake a computer after
the computer goes in hibernation.

By default, the Power Management feature of USB mouse devices is turned off.
This setting is different from classic PS/2 computer functionality.
Therefore, to enable the Wake from standby option, you must manually turn on
the Power Management feature for the USB mouse.
To manually enable the Wake from standby option for the USB mouse, start
Device Manager, right-click the USB mouse driver, click Properties, and then
click to select the Allow this device to wake the system from standby check
box.
