Mouse trouble

Hiya

I'm using windows 2000 with pentium 4 processor, 512mb
ram, geforce fx5200 graphics. My mouse (although i think
it has nothing to do with the mouse itself) is a standard
microsoft intellimouse.

The problem is:
When i am copying files from/accessing the cd-rom drive,
the mouse movement becomes really jerky - to a point where
i can do very little until the processing is over. Are
there any known problems with this? It's hard to tell, but
i think this mouse slow down might happen with other
processes, but it is more noticable whilst copying from
the cd-rom drives.

Thanks for any help. James

Hi. I'm having the same problem with the mouse being slow
and jerky at times. It is very annoying. Just wondering
if anybody suggested a fix yet? (Sorry, I don't have the
answer either)

My experience is that some CD-rom's are CPU intensive and you don't have
a lot left over for handling graphics and user interface (read mouse and
screen)
