mouse right click stopped working

I recently had to do a "systems restore" because something odd was happening
where the computer would not fully start up. As a result, the right click on
the mouse has stopped functioning. It's regular mouse with nothing fancy on
it such as wireless or anything hence no CD other than whatever Windows
provides a software to interact with the mouse. How do I get the right click
to work again?
Operating System: WindowsXP

Hi Z.If you go to control panel.Left click on the mouse.Go to
hardware.Click.Go to properties, driver. Then update driver.Alot of times when
i do system restore i have to update drivers on mouse and keyboard. The
software seems to get tucked away in the process.Hope this helps.TERRY.

Check your mouse properties via the Control Panel.

Another checkpoint that I have read but never tried myself:

Beings you can't right click go to Control Panel/System/Advanced. Select
Performance/click on Settings then Data Execution Prevention. Add
Explorer.exe
