Mouse problems

I am running XP PROF SP2 with a Microsoft USB Wheel Optical Mouse.
Since I upgraded to this version of Windows, my mouse will activate when it
feels like it. Often I have to unplug the mouse then reconnect to get it
working after start up. I can't find my mouse driver at home.
Any help appreciated.
