mouse pointer

when i move my mouse the pointer has a bar code attached to it and it affects
the performance of my system.

One or more of the following:

- Faulty mouse drivers. Delete mouse from Device Manager and then reboot.
- Faulty video drivers. Download the latest drivers for your video card and
install as per their instructions.
- Faulty video card. Memory on your video card is being corrupted, messing
up the picture of your mouse pointer.
 
Had that problem a few years ago. In my case, it was the video card going
bad. When I replaced the video card, the problem went away.
