Mouse Pointer Speed

Hello All,

I have a new HP Laptop running Win XP and am having trouble with my mouse
pointer speed. Everytime I go into the control panel and reset the settings
to a speed I like the pointer to move at it gets reset apon my next reboot.
I make my changes, hit apply, hit OK and use successfully at the new
speed... but every re-boot resets the speed back to turtle slow.

Any ideas?

Right under the pointer speed slider is a box,
tick "enhance pointer precision", then click Apply and OK out.

Thank you for this advice but unfortunaltely there was no difference. In
fact, when I log out and log back in the the mouse speed is reset and the
check box is left blank again.

Any other ideas?

Hi...
Try reloading the drivers.
Right click My Computer, then click properties. Click the Hardware tab
and then Device Manager. Expand Mice and other pointing devices, click
to highlight your mouse and then right click, choose properties. You
can either uninstall the drivers and reinstall them or click to upgrade
the drivers for your mouse. If you installed manufacturer's drivers,
browse to the disk or drive where the drivers are located, or you can
click to install the software automatically. Reboot your system and see
if your settings will not gray out or will hold after you have
reinstalled the drivers.
Take Care...
