I set my computer to turn of the display after a preset amount ot time but
when I resume the pointerhas disapeard. when you move the mouse items are
highlighted but no cursor. When I open a programme however the cursor
re-appears.
Is there an update or hotfix for this or any other help that I could use as
this is getting quite frustrating now.
Many Thanks

Oh.. brother!

In vista they have made one of the most flakey - strange- horrible -
stupid - idiotic
ways to draw the desktop in an effort to bring 3d to the desktop,

They have screwd up things horribly. Plus, in order to get the 3d effect you
need a GPU more powerful than your CPU! lol

WHAT CRAP IS THIS??????

The result of this are hundreds of problems with the gui of programs.. and
even vista itself acts strangly.

AERO, both as design, and concept is stupid. Glass borders? Come on!
Its non user friendly, bad for the eyes, and darn right UGLY.

Fonts and colors are horrid, and you have only one theme! Ok cassic too if
you can count that as a theme.

Vistanerdy-nerds might be hypnotised by these stupid effects,
but anyone who know some stuff about compters, know how bad this really is.

THE FIASCO continues, when you try to turn "AERO GLASS" off, only to see
that
even the classic GUI now reacts SLOWER than AERO, and far slower than what
it was on XP.

WAIT I am not saying that 3d desktops are not good. On the contrary! But the
WAY its done on vista
is darn right BAD.

IN CONTRAST, the way XLG is imlemented in linux does NOT create such
problems.
The GPU can be a modest older one.... far cheaper and less power hungry than
what Vista needs.
You have ultimate control over what is going on and how things are
displayed.
And you can select and install thousands of themes without a problem....

lol.... mr hotshot MVP...

the mouse is communicating fine with the OS... since he says he can still
see it move (things are highlighted).
So beeeeeeepppppp you are wrong... next player please?

I would suggest that you switch to a classic mouse cursor and see if that
helps

You can do that by the control panel.

Also, you might want to remove the shadow effect under the mouse
Do you know how to do this?

this is clearly a DISPLAY problem and not a MOUSE problem

The default mouse pointer is 'classic', and maybe you can give better
instructions to the OP as you do not think that MVPs are capable. It should
be no problem for you to check it out on your Vista installation.

Mark

Ensure that you are running the latest mouse and video driver..

My real advice here for everyone is to format their stupid vista and install
XP that works...

everything else is a waste of time. Vista is unfixable. I give some advice
from time to time to the poor vista victims...
but I know that this is only a temporary solution.. after a little while
another one of the trillion vista bugs will be upon them.

I have stated this again and again.. ===== VISTA IS STUPID.

MVPs are ok if they would limit their posts to helping people... yet they
have become one of the
worse "fanboy" clans in this newsgroup!

I just saw that you can disable the cursor shadow from options in screenshot
a and b too.. it has a checkmark there

Your 'personal' advice is uninstall Vista, yet Vista works very well for
many people. Why should they take your advice and throw $$$ down the drain?

XP only worked really well after SP2, which was not just a roll up of
updates already issued. Vista gets better by the month, so eventually you
are going to run out of reasons as to why others should heed any personal
advice from your corner.

You just insult people, not a good way to convince anybody. Incidentally,
you are consignment #37.

you are inconvincible.. another trait of a vista fanboy..

thus my insults are very well placed and deserved...

Now, if you agree to accept that vista is horrendous, then I will take back
all the insults
and call you a "born again genius"

Why should they take your advice and throw $$$ down the drain?

I am not nessarily telling them to buy XP... If they already have XP they
should not upgrade though..
But even if they do have to buy XP they will see that in the long run it
will save them time and money.
Because XP simply works!

A question for you:

Will you pay back the money to the poor fellow who follows your ill advice
by reading your posts
about how great vista is.. then goes to the shop and buys the horrid thing
and installs only to see
that NOTHING WORKS?

You have a responsibility Sir, especially as an MVP....

If I was you I would clearly state:

"We know that vista has many problems, I do not suggest anyone to install or
buy a computer with vista
unless MS fixes all the problems, IF EVER. Until then I will provide my
services and advice to help
reduce the pain with this OS. "

That is how you should state, but you cant because you want to kiss up on
MS....

fanboy 100%

I love MS, and I know they could have done 1000 times better job with
vista...
There is no one who cares more about people as I do in this newsgroup...

it is the "common user"where my heart is... for them I care.. vista was
never made with them in mind :-(

Vista is simply TOO BAD QUALITY and is UNACCEPTABLE

Hi,

Thanks,
Jasper

I guess you are too stupid to understand right away that

thai berry US = tiberius

and you call it a morph.. lol

Next real "morph" (although it will still be obvious) will be "capin crunch"
perhaps at least you might understand that!
