Mouse Pointer Dissapears

I will be playing solitaire as an example and the mouse pointer dissapears.
When I move the mouse nothing happens. When I re boot the computer the mouse
comes back to its normat functionality. This happens infrequently ie every
couple of weeks but is annoying.

Any ideas

Change the batteries in the wireless mouse.

Open Display Properties, Settings tab, Advanced button, Troubleshoot
tab, and lower the hardware acceleration tab a notch or two till it
works correctly.

They suggest the problem could be the mouse, or graphics drivers.
