part of the setup, and i have my mouse i can move it etc, then it disapears
and i get a dialogue box for the SATA i.o card, that the driver isnt signed,
but i cant click yes to proceed so im just stuck in limbo? i dont know why
the mouse disappears for a start, or why the keyboard doesnt do anything

You forgot to tell us what kind of keyboard and mouse you have. If they
are usb, you need to either enable legacy usb in the BIOS or simply
install with a ps/2 keyboard and a ps/2 mouse.

im using a p/s2 keyboard and a usb mouse with a p/s2 converter, in the bio i
cannot see anything that mentions legacy, but where it says USB controllder
for both keyboard and mouse control there set to bios not os.
the thing is the mouse is working before it starts installing the devices,
it when it get to about 80% the curser vanishes and the keyboard it non
responsive, the num key doesnt work the light just stays on.

Thank you for your help, im so happy/greatful ive been trying for hours to
get this done.

I think I'd just try a different mouse then, one without an adapter.
