Hiding mouse cursor while typing

I use a desktop PC running XP Home SP2, fully updated. I have a
standard, scroll-wheel, optical mouse made by Microsoft.

I've noticed that when I type a new letter in Outlook Express or
Microsoft Word 2002, the cursor does not disappear, even though the "Hide
pointer while typing" is enabled in the Mouse Control Panel applet.
However, for some programs, like Internet Explorer & WordPad, the cursor
DOES disappear once I begin typing.

Is there any way to configure XP so that my mouse cursor will always
disappear once I begin typing, regardless of the program? I once tried
upgrading the mouse driver, but that made no difference.

I think its a program specific feature. Write to those publishers and ask
them to add the feature.
