Mouse buttons

The left and right buttons on my mouse no longer function in the text area of
MS Word.
I can pull down menus from the menu bar.
My mouse works fine in Access and Excel, and all other programs.
I have repaired/reinstalled MS Office 2003 from the control panel.
I have tried a different mouse.
I deleted (and Word recreated) my normal.doc

It does not matter if it is a new document or an old document.

Is there a command that disables the mouse buttons in a word document.
Has anyone seen this before?

Seen what? You've not given any information to allow anyone to try to
duplicate what might be your problem.

Sorry,
When I asked if any one had "seen this" I was referring to the left and
right mouse buttons no longer functioning in the text area of MS Word (2003)
The mouse buttons will pull down menus in MS Word, and open and close the
program.
The problem is, in MS Word, I can no longer highlight text by left clicking
and dragging, or use the right click to for a suggestion on spelling.
The mouse works in all other programs, MS Excel, Access, Notepad, Wordpad,
IE, etc.
From the control panel I have reinstalled and repaired MS Office, and I have
tried a different mouse, but the problem still exists.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
