mouse and keyboard froze at log on screen

my lap top with xp loads and at the user log in screen the mouse and key
board freezez? any ? help! please.

Does it work okay in safe mode? If so, do a System Restore in safe mode to a
time before the problem started.

No it doesnt show up in safe mode, It`s not in device mngr or in my computer?
