Motorola WN825G - how to make it works in windows xp professional

Hello all,

I´m experiencing problems with the WN825G wireless notebook adapter from
motorola.

When I´was using Windows 98 in my old laptop, everything was fine. Now that
I have a brand new HP compaq nx9020 with windows xp pro, completely up to
date regarding patches etc., I can´t make the adapter works.

It powers on but it´s all. No connection, in spite of place the notebook 1
meter from the access point. Do you know why it is happening ? Any problem
with windows xp or with the HP hardware ?

All drivers are up-to-date, including both motorola and broadcom last
releases.

Thank you all in advance if you can help me.

Regards

Does WIndows recognise that the Motorola is installed?

It may have power from the PC, but it needs to be configured in order to
function.

This is usually managed by an installation and setup utility provided by the
manufacturer. Have you done this, or did you simply plug in the Motorola and
hope that some drivers would make it all happen?

ALso put the adapter back into the Win98 machine and write down all the
configuration settings; such as Channel, MAC, Passwors etc. Use the user
guide and you discover where all this can be found.

Without this being done correctly you have not a chance in hell of accessing
any network.

Thanks for your help BUT I´d already done all of the steps you told me...and
it does´nt work ...

anyway, the adapter powers on but don´t recognize any wireless network
presented

I already configured with the same parameters of win98 installation and
nothing

do you know if hp compaq nx9020 notebook has some kind of hardware problem
with motorola adapters ?
