Motherboard upgrade and existing XP Pro activation

I have a new motherboard and chip to install in my home-
built PC. An OEM Windows XP Pro installed and I want to
continue using it when I upgrade.

The problem is I can't get an answer out of Microsoft how
to reactive it when I do it - the phone number asks for
the code which an OEM version does not fit.

HELP!!!
