More Installation Problems

Hi all,
Thank you to the gentlemen who helped my out earlier
this morning. I have move a little further along, but
again ran into another problem. I have reformatted my
hardrive and therfore have no OS. For some reason I
cannot boot of the Windows XP CD, so I went to
bootdisk.com and found the link to download an ".exe" that
helped my create a set of boot disks for winxp. After
some trouble I got those to work and reformatted to NTFS
and partitioned. Now when I am in setup I have two
partitions to select to install. One is 8mb and the other
is something like 38Gb, when I select the larger one it
asks me if I want to format(quick), format, or leave...no
matter what option I choose I get the following error.

Missing or Corrupt:
Value in .SIF file

Value 0 on the Line in section [SourceDiskFiles} with
key "SP1.cab"

Setup cannot continue.

Now I am most perplexed...any help would be most
appreciated, for as of the moment my personal computer has
no Operating System. I still am wondering why I cannot
boot of the XP CD...could it by my BIOS? If so how can I
update that?

Most likely you cannot boot off your CD because your
computer is set to boot off your floppy or hard drive so
restart your computer and hold delete to get into the
CMOS.... now it is different for every computer but
usually there will be a boot device tab or something like
that go to it and make the primary or number 1 boot
device your cd drive then restart again and it should
boot off your cd
