Sgi F180 LCD flat screen monitor
1024 x 768 is too pixelated
1152 x 864 is magic, but leaves a
1 inch black border around the window.
I cannot seem to expand the window to fit the screen
any way to fix this?

After setting it to 1152 x 864

try hitting the monitor's "auto adjust" button (assuming it has one)

Thanks for the response Philo,
I'll have a good look on the morrow, I fear not,
Tried Silicon Graphics website but support
withdrawn, no obvious drivers.

I had the res working fine, then did a fresh install
with graphics accelerator, and this irritation has
surfaced.
Regards.

1152 x 864 is an odd resolution. LCD monitors have a native resolution
and if you run at a different one, things will not look right. The
native resolution for your monitor is 1280 x 1024 so try setting it to that.

Thanks Malke,
I'll report back on the morrow,
I've shut down the XP due to excessive modem/router use
the subject of another post here.
(not enjoying my XP experience at the moment)

Hello,
I just checked the manual for your monitor, the native resolution (sharpest)
is 1280 x 1024.

Wow! thanks very much SWD, a high five to you :)
I'll post results tomorrow.
Rod.
