Hello everyone,

I just recently made computer(2.4 Ghz, 512MB, Nvidia
Geforce 5600 128 MB and 120 GB HD) and everything
appeared to be fine in the beginning, but for some reason
everytime I try to load a game (XIII, Splinter Cell,
etc..) the monitor shuts off, everything (CPU, you even
hear the sound of the game playing) else stays on. The
monitor I use is some what old (i got it with my first
computer in 99), sometimes it even shuts off when i
unplug devices from my cpu (i.e my broadband adapter) I
would really really appreciate if someone could help me
with this nagging problem. Thanking you in advance. Have
a nice day. Thanks again.

Your monitor may be responding to an incorrect refresh rate. Go into
the Nvidia control panel and set the refresh rate to 60hz in order to
test the monitor. If the monitor does the same thing, it may be
failing. Perhaps time to purchase a newer and more modern monitor.
