Monitor goes blank...

So I have a new laptop with Vista ultimate. Whenever I use my laptop for
couple of minutes or hours, the monitor will go blank. It's not a blackout
because the computer is still on with dim lights, but nothing can help the
computer to go back to its functions. The ctrl-alt-del key doesn't work
either...oh, and it doesn't matter what programs I have opened.

Help will be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

You do not state how new the laptop is but this is not problem that you
should try to fix maybe, if the machine is still under warranty, I recommend
that you return to where you bought it from and get them to check it out.
Agreed it may be something simple but it is not something I would expect from
a new PC.

What did the laptop manufacturer's technical support folks suggest
when you called them for warranty support?
