Monitor goes blank after boot-up

I share my 21" Cybervision C112 monitor with my laptop on
a A/B switch. If I power up my PC when the switch is in
the wrong switch setting the monitor goes blank. I try to
delete the monitor drivers and let XP reload them but I am
not successful.

Any suggestions?

From your brief description (and you carefully left out information like
the switch make/model), I'd rather look to the switch not working
properly with XP. Check with the switch mftr. or try a different brand.
I use an older Belkin kmv that works perfectly with Win98, WinXP, and
Linux boxen.
