Momentary cursor freeze

Ever since loading XP Home Ed & Service pack I have experienced intermittent
freeze up of cursor for 2 or 3 secs. Also seems more prevalent when cursor is
in left or right 2 ins margin at edge of Window. Sometimes cursor moves
sudenly vertically up or down, but can be quickly recovered by mouse movement.

Not serious but momentarily disturbing. MS tech people seem to have no
answer. Anybody else experienced this and knows answer?
 
I have the same problem, it isn't just with the cursor, it affects all the
sound players as well, with intermittent stop-start on all music or other
sound. Did you find a solutions since Septermber??
