I just upgraded to Xp professional and for some reason
the dial ups that worked previously now are unavailable.
I am not sure if it is the modem that is causing the
problem or if there is something else. I know that the
modem is not supported in XP but the modem seems to be
fine under the device manager and querys when tested.
 
Had the same problem. First, look at the obvious. Is the phone line plugged in securely? Id the modem enabled? Is there a conflict in resources?
I had to uninstall/reinstall the modem, then it woked fine. My modem wouldn't even dial, no sound. It sucked and I almost went nuts.
