Modem SetUp Problem

I have a US Robotics Courier Modem that worked find under Win98se and
displayed the Distinctive Ring Tab on Modem Properties.

After doing a clean Install if Windows XP, there is no Distinctive Ring Tab
on the Modem Properties. Is this a bug or can someone tell me how to fix?
I even tried to install the INF file that I have for the modem with no joy.
ATS70=15 is set to enable Distinctive Ring in the modem. This affects my
WinFax software.

Any ideas? TIA!

Have you checked USR site for updated driver, or are you relying on winxp
driver?

I used the special INF driver file that I had, after I found the native XP
one did not have what I needed, but to no joy. I went on the USR Web Site
after your comment and there is nothing for my Courier External Modem.
Guess I'll have to break down and spend some money on a new internal one
compatible with XP.

Thanks for your reply....it did help. I thought the driver might effect
the Distinctive Ring Tab, but guess not.

I bought a brand new US Robotics Internal modem for XP, installed the XP
drivers that come with the modem, and it still does not show a Tab for
Distinctive Ring like the driver did in Win98se.

Distinctive Ring will not work at this point. XP has no idea that
Distinctive Ring exists.

Any ideas at this point?
