Modem Problem after win xp upgrade

I upgraded my os to win XP and now my modem doesn't work. I have the
installation CD for my modem ( Ambient Ham voice, data, fax V90 ) however the
drivers on the CD are not XP compatible. I downloaded XP drivers for this
modem from the internet and installed them, however the device manager in
control panel, under modems, shows a PCI simple communications controller
with no drivers installed. I am unable to find drivers for a PCI simple
communications controller.

The PCI simple comm. controller is a "general" message and is not a true
driver. You need to install motherboard chipset drivers for you motherboard
and remove/re-install the modem drivers.
